Co., 1983), 2:136. [Incorrectly] Gives this Mary Mowry as the wife of Martin Smith. (See note by N. Combs below.) !IDENTITY: N. Combs, in email dated 18 Aug 2003, writes: "I've got an abstract of the will of Daniel Mowry {1174} in which he mentions his daughter Mary Smith, wife of Martin Smith. If this is correct, then it is Mary Mowry {42551}, born September 07, 1737 in Smithfield (src: Arnold's VRs) who married Martin Smith {17789}, not Mary Mowry {19761}, even though that is what is in "John Smith, the Miller, of Providence Rhode Island: Some of His Descendants," by Charles William Farnham. Mary (Mowry) Smith's death at age 75 in 1814 more closely corresponds to the 1737 birthdate rather than the 1745 birthdate. Also, Cynthia (Smith) Salisbury {19762} names a son Daniel Mowry Salisbury {19771}, as she might for her grandfather." !DEATH: "Death in Burrillville aged 75 was recorded in _The Providence Gazette_ issue of 23 Aug. 1814." --C.W.
