!RESIDENCES: "Jonas was deeded some of his father's land and was engaged in farming there in Groton, Mass. He was listed in the U.S. Census of 1790 as head of a family in Groton." --D. Roe.
!MILITARY: "His name was on the muster-roll--dated 19 Dec 1758--of bayonet-men in Capt. John Sawtelle's company, which marched on Lexington Alarm 19 Apr 1775. He was in the battle of Lexington green on 19 Apr 1775, where the Militia or Minute Men first engaged the British. His service during that time was twelve and one half days. (Mass. Soldiers and Sailors in the Revolution - Vol. 14, page 104.) He also was in Captain James Prescott's Groton Company in the Indian Wars. He was also involved in Shay's Revellion, 1786-7." --D. Roe.
